Preparing for your Bridal Boudoir Shoot

So you’ve decided to do the Bridal Boudoir Shoot instead of or in lieu of the Engagement Shoot……..YOU GO GIRL!!!!!

It’s time to go shopping for some pretty little lacy things. But first, take a look at these tips I’ve put together to help you out with your pre-shoot planning.

THE WEEK BEFORE YOUR SHOOT…

  • Begin drinking lots and lots of water. This will help to hydrate your skin and give you a beautiful glow the day of your shoot.
  • Stay away from salty things and do not drink any alcohol. This will lower your chances of water retention and bloat.
  • Do not tan or alter your natural skin tone in any way. Keep it natural.
  • If you plan to wax, do that now. You don’t want any redness or irritation showing up the day of your shoot.
  • Get your hair done a few days before your shoot.
  • Go shopping now and try on the lingerie to make sure it all fits and flatters your figure. Remove all tags. Hang the garments until your shoot date.

DAY BEFORE YOUR SHOOT…

  • Again, remove all the tags and hang the garments.
  • Take a nice warm bath.
  • Shave and moisturize your skin.
  • Get everything packed up and ready for the shoot.
  • Make sure that you have gathered all lingerie and accessories: jewelry, heels, etc.
  • GPS the shoot location so that you have an idea of how long your travel will be and plan accordingly the day of.
  • Relax the rest of the evening.
  • Get some sleep. Good sleep.

DAY OF YOUR SHOOT…

  • Be sure to wear something loose-fitting to your shoot. This will help to avoid any marks on your skin caused by tight-fitting jeans, etc.
  • Please wear clear deodarant.
  • Be sure to eat something. But keep it light. Hydrate with water instead of juice, soda or coffee.
  • If you have opted to have our makeup artist do your face, please come to your shoot with clean and moisturized skin.
  • RELAX. You are beautiful. Your shoot will be beautiful and you have nothing to be worried about. I will show you how to pose. I will guide you throughout the entire shoot. I am going to work with you to get the most beautiful photos you have ever taken. You are in good hands.

WHAT TO WEAR…

Time to go shopping!!

Be sure that your lingerie will flatter your body! When choosing your outfits, focus on how the garments make you feel. Make sure that you choose things that make you feel comfortable and sexy. You will want to bring at least 3 sets of lingerie/outfits to your shoot. You will definitely want at least one set to be a classic black set. Black flatters everybody. Pastels and whites are another good choice for a more soft and romantic feel.  Your third option can be something more fun and edgy. Bold colors and catchy details can be fun for your edgy look. Be sure to bring a pair of your favorite sexy panties for those “implied” topless poses. Something with a cute bow in the back or some other sexy detail will be perfect for those poses where your back is to the camera.

WHAT TO BRING…

You can’t go wrong with a pair of black sky-high heels! If you are planning to do jewelry, choose bold statement pieces. They show up on the camera better than small dainty jewels. Different types of body jewelry can be nice too! Does hubby have a nice white button-up shirt, a favorite jersey or an over-sized sweater? Wouldn’t it be sexy to incorporate those into your shoot? Bring those items too. Garter belts, flowers, guitars (yes, guitars) thigh-high stockings and flowers can add a little something extra to your shoot as well. Bring ’em!!

Don’t forget to bring your confidence! Do not stress. This will be fun. Whether you are doing it for the hubby or just for yourself, be prepared to feel beautiful and have a blast all at the same time! If you are unsure about anything, please feel free to contact me.

You’re going to love it…..I promise!!
